Since 2015 Tex Tubb’s and Next Door Brewing have challenged Madison-area homebrewers to brew with with ingredients once banned by the German purity law known as Reinheitsgebot. Next Door will replicate and brew the winning recipe to be served at Tex Tubb’s and Next Door throughout Madison Craft Beer Week in May 2017 while supplies last.
In 2017, we’re once again challenging the greater-Madison homebrewing community to break from traditional recipes and incorporate one or more of the listed special ingredients in this year’s 3rd Annual ReinheitsRevolt! Homebrew Contest.
Judges will choose a Best-in-Show entry based on adherence to base style and harmonious incorporation of one or more of the special ingredients. The Best-of-Show winner will then go on to assist Next Door Brewing Company Brewmaster Bryan Kreiter in brewing a three barrel batch of the winning beer.
The winning beer will debut at Tex Tubb’s Taco Palace Friday, April 28 during a release party to kick off Madison Craft Beer Week 2017. The winning brew will also be on tap at Next Door Brewing Company during Craft Beer Week while supplies last.
